The exciting weekend full of fierce duels in ETTU Champions League and ETTU Cup are behind us. After three days of the competition and 14 matches, the names of the semi finalist in Men’s category of ECL, ETTU Cup and Women’s ETTU Cup and finalist in Women’s ECL are known.
Girls reached ultimate stage in the ECL. On weekend 26-29 March 2010 will play title holder Froschberg and Infinity Heerlen. After shocking start Froschberg beat Castel Goffredo 3:2 and Infinity Heerlen defeated Mladost Iskon 3:1 in rematches of WECL semis.
In the semi-final of the Men’s European Champions League Borussia Dusseldorf will play against Sterilgarda Castelgoffredo and Royal Villette Charleroi will meet TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen. The dates are the same – on weekend 26th and 29th March.
In the quarters last weekend Castelgoffredo Sterilgarda suffered defeat against Niederösterreich 2:3, but in the first leg Italian side recorded straight match victory, so these two points were more then enough to push team into semi final. Dusseldorf beat Roskilde this weekend and repeated the success from the opening leg. Charleroi also recorded two wins against UMMC . Ochsenhausen beat Hennebont 3:1 in opening leg and Hennebont succeeded by the same result in the return leg. However German side progressed further to the semis by the game ratio.
In the ETTU Cup Fakel Gazproma Orenburg will play against Bogoria Grodzisk Mazowiecki and TTC RhönSprudel Fulda-Maberzell will meet TG 1837 Hanau in the semi final of the Men’s category. The dates for the Men’s and Women’s Event are once again the weekend 26th and 29th March.
Russian Fakel Gazproma Orenburg needed four matches to win in Pluderhasen against last year's champions, but in Russia they succeeded in straight matches. Bogoria Grodzisk Mazowiecki showed superb performance against TTC Zugbrucke Grenzau E.v. TTC RhönSprudel Fulda-Maberzell was forced to go full distance in Angers but they repeated the success from the opening leg. TG 1837 Hanau at the premiere in the ETTU Cup made it to the semi final. In the second leg of the quarterfinal German club succeeded against Club Cajasur Priego in four matches and overcame first leg 2:3 defeat in Priego De Cordoba.
In Women's ETTU Cup, for the place in the final will fight reigning champions Spanish UCAM Cartagena vs. St Berthevin St Loup TT from France, as well as Russia's Dalenergosetproekt Vladivostok vs. Polish Tarnobrzeg.
UCAM Cartagena succeeded against Victoria Moscow. St Berthevin St Loup survived two fantastic thrillers in both legs, and they beat Fenerbahce in both occasions. Dalenergosetproekt from Vladivostok overcame Fotoprix VIC and Polish team Tarnobrzeg succeeded against Ponta do Pargo-Calheta from Portugal.
