This is the revised electronic (.html) version of the popular book "Table Tennis: From A to Z". This revised .html version contains:

  • one more chapter covering children training,
  • technical and tactical exercises in video mode.

The aim of this 14 chapters' e-book is to describe table tennis in such a way as to make it well known to the public while enriching and broadening the field of knowledge for coaches and players all over the world.

  • The first chapter consists of a historical overview of table tennis and an outline of the characteristics of the sport and players.
  • The second chapter covers table tennis equipment with an in-depth analysis of the special characteristics of the blade and rubbers.
  • The third, fourth and fifth chapter give an analytical description of technique including the ball spin, grips, technical strokes and footwork. There are also some simple and complex drills (figure & video) for improvement of the technique for strokes and footwork.
  • The sixth chapter is an extensive reference to serve execution and reception.
  • The seventh chapter covers footwork, training and tactics for doubles.
  • The eighth chapter is a presentation of the different playing styles and competing tactics. There is also a detailed description of tactical exercises (figure & video) both for offensive and defensive players.
  • The ninth chapter covers the competitive profile of a table tennis player and provides an example of an annual training schedule.
  • The tenth chapter includes methods for improving the physical condition of the player.
  • The eleventh chapter covers some ergometric and technical tests, which can be used by coaches for the evaluation of the physical, kinetic, psychokinetic and technical skills of the players.
  • The twelfth chapter describes the psychological preparation of the players as well as the relationship between the athletic psychologist, the coach and the players.
  • The thirteenth chapter covers elements of nutrition, which are relevant to table tennis.
  • The fourteenth chapter covers children's training.
